The Smith & Wesson M&P9 M2.0 Compact Optics Ready shrinks the proven M2.0 platform into a carry-friendly package without giving up a 4" barrel. This California-compliant 9mm features an optic-cut stainless slide with the C.O.R.E. plate system for most popular red dots, white-dot sights, and a flat-face trigger for a clean, repeatable press.
A shorter grip makes it easier to conceal, while four interchangeable palmswell inserts and the 18-degree grip angle keep it comfortable for a wide range of hands. A thumb safety, magazine disconnect and tactile loaded chamber indicator satisfy CA requirements, and two 10-round magazines are included. California Purchase Information
- CA Handgun Roster: Listed on the California DOJ Roster of Certified Handguns (roster entry: M&P9 2.0 OR - 14277).
- Who can buy: Purchasers must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid California Firearm Safety Certificate (FSC), provide proof of California residency and complete a safe-handling demonstration at pickup.
- Background check & waiting period: All sales are processed through DROS (Dealer Record of Sale) with a California DOJ background check and a mandatory 10-day waiting period. Pickup must be completed within 30 days of the DROS.
- Pickup / transfer only: Firearms are delivered in person at our Thousand Oaks store, or transferred through a licensed California firearms dealer. We do not ship firearms directly to individuals.
- Magazines: Ships with California-legal magazines limited to 10 rounds. Large-capacity magazines (over 10 rounds) cannot be sold or delivered in California.
- Taxes & fees: California’s 11% firearm and ammunition excise tax, sales tax and state DROS fees apply and are collected at the time of transfer.
- Safety device: A California DOJ-approved firearm safety device (lock) or proof of an approved gun safe is required with every firearm purchase.
