Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Brute Dynamics Inc. DBA VC Defense ("Brute Dynamics," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you visit brutedynamics.com (the "Site"), shop with us online, or visit our store in Thousand Oaks, California. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us. When you create an account, place an order, sign up for our newsletter, contact us, or arrange a firearm transfer, we may collect:

  • Name, mailing/billing/shipping address, email address, and phone number
  • Account login information and order history
  • Payment information (card payments are processed by our payment processors; we do not store full card numbers on our servers)
  • Messages and information you send us
  • For firearm and ammunition purchases and transfers: information required by federal and California law, such as government-issued ID details, date of birth, and other information needed for the ATF Form 4473 and California DOJ (DROS) background check and record-keeping

Information collected automatically. When you use the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, referring pages, and the date and time of your visit. We collect this using cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies" below).

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To process and fulfill orders, transfers, and payments, and to arrange shipping or pickup
  • To complete legally required background checks and keep records required by law
  • To manage your account and provide customer service
  • To send order updates and, if you opt in, newsletters and promotions (you can unsubscribe at any time)
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site and prevent fraud
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms and policies

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share personal information only:

  • With service providers that help us run our business, such as our e-commerce platform (BigCommerce), payment processors, shipping carriers, and email providers. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
  • With government agencies as required by law, including the California Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for firearm and ammunition background checks and records.
  • For legal reasons, such as to respond to a subpoena or court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety or that of others.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger, sale, or reorganization of our business.

California "Shine the Light": We do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

4. Cookies and Tracking

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use essential cookies to make the Site work (for example, to keep items in your cart and keep you signed in). With your consent, we may also use analytics, functional, and advertising cookies. When you first visit the Site, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time using the Cookie Preferences link at the bottom of every page. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work properly.

Do Not Track: Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common standard for how to respond to these signals, so the Site does not currently respond to them. You can control non-essential cookies through our cookie banner or the Cookie Preferences link.

Third-party tracking: Third parties, such as analytics providers, may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use the Site, but only for the cookie categories you allow.

5. Your Choices and Rights

  • Review and update your information: Sign in to your account to view and update your information, or contact us using the details below.
  • Delete your information: You may ask us to delete your personal information. We will do so unless we are required by law to keep it (for example, firearm transaction records that federal and California law require us to keep).
  • Marketing emails: Use the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email, or contact us.

To make a request, email hello@brutedynamics.com or call (805) 380-6486. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

6. Data Security and Retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, or longer where required by law.

7. Children's Privacy

The Site is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated policy on this page and change the "Effective date" above. If we make material changes, we may also notify you by email or with a notice on the Site.
